The opportunity | Ko te āheinga

Support project managers, project technical leads and Engineers to the Contract by undertaking site monitoring, engineering calculations, site investigations, design, report writing, quality assurance (MSQA) activities and drawing preparation for a variety of projects.

This is your chance to take that next step and use your technical know-how together with your investigation, analytical and design skills to deliver excellent service to our key and emerging clients in New Zealand.

Day to day activities:

  • Conduct constructability reviews of draft designs, specifications, and drawings.

  • Preparation of cost estimates for construction including risk assessments to support contingency allowances.

  • Preparation of tender documents and the evaluation of tenders.

  • Liaise with external and government authorities, community groups, agencies and appropriate technical, operational and project staff to ensure the impact of works is minimised.

  • Act in the role of Engineer’s Representative or Principal’s Representative Agent in the administration and surveillance of projects, in accordance with appropriate standards and procedures including Client contract management requirements.

  • Ensure meetings are managed and documented with actions assigned.

  • Comprehensive documentation and record management in accordance with project plans and client requirements.

  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with local contractors, clients, and team members.

  • Undertake a range of road design responsibilities in an accurate and timely manner

  • Conduct the role of task manager on assigned projects to deliver the agreed outputs on budget, on time and to quality standards

Qualifications

About you | E pā ana ki a koe

  • Relevant technical qualification e.g. BEng. NZCE, BEngTech, Dip Eng.

  • Minimum 3 - 7 years’ relevant professional experience in traffic engineering, road safety and/or construction monitoring.

  • Strong investigation, analytical and report writing skills.

  • Able to build trust and provide support to peers and clients.

  • Ideally experience in both the public and private sectors.

  • Have a strong interest in professional development and building a challenging career in transport engineering.
