About the role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineer to join the Stantec team. Working out of our Perth CBD office, you will form an integral part of the Civil Engineering team within our Energy & Resources division.

Our Civil Engineer will have a track record of focusing on client service. Being a multi-discipline firm, strong communication skills are needed along with the ability to co-ordinate with other discipline personnel.

The following are some of your key responsibilities:

  • Perform civil engineering design;

  • Perform calculations to analyse and design civil system components;

  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials and the development of civil specifications;

  • Contribute to the development of civil systems;

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables;

  • Prepare civil engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules; and

  • Assist in the review of drawings and submittals, respond to request for information, prepare site observation reports, and perform other contract administration tasks.

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering with an emphasis on Civil Engineering;

  • 3 years experience as a civil design engineer in the resources industry;

  • Experience in MRWA, barrier design, lines and signs;

  • Experience in earthworks, civil drainage, sealed and unsealed roads, floodways, and other civil infrastructure (desirable);

  • Experience in QGIS, Drains, XPSWMM (desirable);

  • Good knowledge of private and public resource industry standards, design and specifications;

  • Able to participate as part of a team;

  • Attention to detail;

  • Able and willing to undertake remote site visits;

  • Able to liaise with peers and direct supervisors;

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; and

  • A proactive and ‘can do’ work approach.
