About the role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineer to join the Stantec team. Working out of our Perth CBD office, you will form an integral part of the Civil Engineering team within our Energy & Resources division.
Our Civil Engineer will have a track record of focusing on client service. Being a multi-discipline firm, strong communication skills are needed along with the ability to co-ordinate with other discipline personnel.
The following are some of your key responsibilities:
Perform civil engineering design;
Perform calculations to analyse and design civil system components;
Assist in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials and the development of civil specifications;
Contribute to the development of civil systems;
Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables;
Prepare civil engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules; and
Assist in the review of drawings and submittals, respond to request for information, prepare site observation reports, and perform other contract administration tasks.
Tertiary qualification in Engineering with an emphasis on Civil Engineering;
3 years experience as a civil design engineer in the resources industry;
Experience in MRWA, barrier design, lines and signs;
Experience in earthworks, civil drainage, sealed and unsealed roads, floodways, and other civil infrastructure (desirable);
Experience in QGIS, Drains, XPSWMM (desirable);
Good knowledge of private and public resource industry standards, design and specifications;
Able to participate as part of a team;
Attention to detail;
Able and willing to undertake remote site visits;
Able to liaise with peers and direct supervisors;
Good communication and interpersonal skills; and
A proactive and ‘can do’ work approach.
