About the role
Our well established and growing Structural team in Victoria are currently seeking Senior a Structural Engineer to join our buildings team.
You will be given the opportunity to work across two regional offices in Geelong and Ballarat, to assist in developing client relationships and delivering successful projects.
You will have the pleasure of working on iconic and exciting building projects across Victoria and the opportunity to support national projects. You will service projects including those of relatively large size, of high complexity and with multiple clients.
We operate across all building types, including health, education, sports and leisure, defence, retail and commercial buildings. The role will enable you to thrive in a successful global firm during this exciting chapter of growth.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Be a trusted advisor to our clients and other project stakeholders, notably architects, contractors, builders and end users to achieve efficient and cost-effective solutions with a high-quality outcome
Complete projects in terms of programme, design execution, technical risk management and overall client satisfaction
Run and manage structural building projects, from preparing proposals and presenting to our clients, trough to timely project delivery
Mentor and support junior staff members
Prepare drawings and calculations in support of design concepts.
Execute project design, documentation, and contract administration
Liaise with local authorities, clients and consultant team
Attend project meetings
Contribute to the overall strategy and development of the Structural team and to our company culture.
Adhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Hold a Bachelor Degree in Structural Engineering
Chartered status with Engineers Australia
5 years experience working in an engineering consultancy environment working on buildings projects across a range of sectors eg. Commercial, health, defence and education.
Australian experience is essential, with VIC experience being highly advantageous
Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards
Structural software knowledge of SpaceGass, RAM Concept, ETABS or similar design programs
Knowledge of building stability analysis and corresponding detailing
Knowledge and capability across post tensioned and reinforced concrete, steel, masonry and timber design fields
Ideally be well connected/networked within the industry
Be an enthusiastic and energetic Engineer, keen to contribute to the culture of the team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
Problem solving mindset with strong interpersonal skills
