About The Role

Join Stantec’s Energy & Resources team in Perth and take the lead on one of the most exciting new developments in the mining sector — the Kingking Gold & Copper Project in the Philippines, a world-class greenfield site with an expected 38-year mine life and significant gold and copper reserves.

As Senior Project Manager reporting to the Project Director, you’ll drive the successful delivery of a significant portion of this major program from DFS through to execution, leading multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, and construction management. This role offers the opportunity to shape large-scale mining infrastructure, partner closely with industry leaders, and deliver a project that will help deliver the next generation of critical minerals.

Scope Accountabilities

  • Site Wide power, water, utilities and roads.

  • Port facility includes near shore jetty, materials handling and onshore storage and handling.

  • Temporary and permanent accommodation

  • Copper concentrate storage

  • Warehousing

  • Administration facilities

  • Induction and training centre

  • Control centre

  • Security and gatehouse

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Manager, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the projects full lifecycle starting with DFS, the current project phase— including design management, tendering, contract administration, scheduling, financial management, and risk mitigation.

  • Leading project delivery to ensure outcomes meet client and stakeholder expectations.

  • Acting as the central point for team collaboration and coordination for the area of accountability.

  • Assisting in contract reviews and negotiations, and verifying timeframes, milestones, and budgets.

  • Managing resource allocation to ensure program milestones are met.

  • Delivering projects in accordance with contractual requirements.

  • Coordinating subconsultants and subcontractors to support project outcomes.

  • Reviewing and refining work procedures to drive operational improvement and quality outcomes.

  • Applying strong project controls, including cost forecasting, change management, scheduling, and progress reporting.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a relevant technical field (desirable).

  • 15 years of experience in project management, ideally within the energy and resources sector.

  • A proven track record in delivering multiple and concurrent mining and industry projects including studies and detailed design projects.

  • Strong experience in project coordination, planning, and execution.

  • The ability to navigate complex environments and effectively manage client and stakeholder relationships.

  • Proficiency in project programming and critical path analysis, with a strategic approach to risk management.

  • High-level commercial acumen and experience managing budgets and resources.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a natural ability to lead and motivate teams.

  • Experience across multiple commodities, including critical minerals.

  • Broad supply chain exposure, ideally with experience from pit to port.
