About the role

This is a full-time opportunity based at Tarong Power Stations.

The Major Maintenance Superintendent role is to provide effective leadership and management of the Outage Team within the boundaries of Stanwell’s Policies. The primary focus for the role is managing the initiation, planning, development, execution and completion of planned unit outages.

Key activities include:

  • Uphold and champion Stanwell’s vision and values by ensuring Superintendents are at the forefront of decision making and action. Coaching and challenging others to demonstrate acceptable behaviours where appropriate.
  • Full budget responsibility for the incumbent’s relevant cost centre and projects with a full understanding of the site budget areas. The ability to proactively engage stakeholders when authorising spend within areas outside of their budget responsibility.
  • Foster effective work relationships with all Maintenance, Operations and Engineering teams in relation to delivery of planned unit outages to ensure availability, reliability and performance targets are achieved.
  • Follow reasonable directions and Stanwell processes and systems to ensure the Safety, Health, Wellbeing and Psychosocial Safety of yourself and others when conducting business activities for Stanwell Corporation.

About you

  • Trade / Tertiary qualification and experience in relevant field is desirable
  • Project Management experience within a Heavy Industrial Environment
  • Extensive maintenance experience with large thermal power station’s plant and equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a multi-skilled team to effectively carry out work in timely and consistent manner.
  • Demonstrated commitment to develop, support and maintain a cohesive multi-skilled team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in working cooperatively with multiple work teams across site and with management to resolve plant performance related issues.
