About the role

Kickstart your career in the electricity generation industry and develop a broad range of skills during this hands-on traineeship. At the successful completion of your traineeship, you will obtain a Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations.

This is an opportunity to find meaningful work with an established employer in the South Burnett as you start and develop your career. Over your two-year traineeship, you will work with experienced mentors to provide warehouse support at our sites.

Key activities include:

  • Get hands on experience learning and earning whilst working at Tarong Power Station as you study to become a qualified supply chains operations professional
  • Have a desire to learn and develop throughout your traineeship - this will involve studying a relevant TAFE qualification as part of your traineeship
  • Learn the role of a supply chain operator in an active power station as you work with a team of experienced professionals
  • Have work life balance as you develop your career with a 4-day work week whilst being able to live in the South Burnett
  • Become part of the Tarong Power Station family

To ensure our trainees obtain a broad range of skills across the full supply chain function, you will be rotated across the following areas to enhance your learning and a greater understanding of our supply chain business and how it supports Stanwell:

  • Warehouse (inc. goods receipting and dispatch, warehouse operations, safety housekeeping and compliance)
  • Inventory (incl. inventory forecasting and demand, catalogue and inventory management)
  • Purchasing (incl. creating and processing if purchase orders, supplier and internal stakeholder engagement and procurement governance.

Each rotation you will be able to bring out your own talents through small projects where you will really leave a mark on business improvements.

Some of the projects and tasks you will be involved in include:

  • Accurately receipting items delivered to site via the Warehouse
  • Inspecting delivered goods for their condition
  • Communicating with site teams regarding stock and equipment orders
  • Processing day-to-day business activities in Stanwell systems
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy warehouse environment

About you

  • Desirable to have completed a minimum of Year 12 or equivalent prior to program commencement.
  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in completing this two-year traineeship (you will be required to complete a relevant TAFE qualification as part of your traineeship)
  • Display good communication skills, including the ability to ask questions and listen to instructions.
  • It is highly desirable that you have driver's licence upon commencement (Feb 2027)
