While our energy future is not defined by our coal-fired generation, our transformation will be supported by it.
We own and operate two of the most efficient coal-fired power stations in Australia - the Tarong power stations near Kingaroy, and Stanwell Power Station west of Rockhampton. We can ramp generation from our coal-fired power stations up and down as needed, to let solar generation shine in the middle of the day, and still provide the electricity people need in the mornings and evenings. We also own Meandu Mine, adjacent to our Tarong power stations, to provide low-cost fuel for the station.
We’re putting our energy into finding better, cleaner ways to reliably generate, store and move electricity for our customers. Through our pipeline of proposed renewable energy projects throughout central and southern Queensland we’ll reduce our emissions intensity and create future opportunities for our people and communities. We’re also leading Australia’s renewable hydrogen industry, with plans progressing to develop the country’s largest green hydrogen export hub in Gladstone, Central Queensland.

About the Role
The Manager, Business Growth & Client Relations has a key role in growing Stanwell’s new renewable maintenance services business and will play a strategic role in delivering Stanwell’s 2035 Strategy. The role will work seamlessly with the General Manager Renewable Maintenance Services, General Manager New Energy Projects, General Manager Commercial Strategy, and other teams across the division and Stanwell more broadly.
The roles accountabilities include, but are not limited too;
- Develop the business growth strategy.
- Lead the development of the maintenance service opportunities for Stanwell in areas that are aligned with the corporate strategy and business growth strategy.
- Develop and management the business growth pipeline for maintenance services opportunities.
- Leverage Stanwell’s capabilities across the current and emerging business (e.g. retail, trading, renewable energy portfolio, engineering, operations) to develop maintenance services proposals.
- Develop and maintain a broad network of relationships with potential commercial partners and other stakeholders in the renewable energy sector.
- Develop service delivery relationship models, business models, concept studies and business cases.
- Negotiate commercial agreements to underpin project development, including confidentiality agreements, memoranda of understanding, and participation agreements.
- Negotiate commercial agreements to underpin the services delivery arrangement.
This is a Permanent Full-time opportunity based in our Brisbane Office reporting to the General Manager Renewables Maintenance Services.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business, commerce or engineering discipline is highly desirable.
- Post graduate studies in commercial or maintenance fields would be highly regarded
- Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience in energy or related industries. Knowledge of the various renewable energy technologies is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in business growth, proposal development, services delivery costing build and the various contract arrangements for delivering maintenance services.
- Knowledge of safety programs and recognition of importance of safety in the workplace in the solutions you have delivered.
- Proven track record of negotiating maintenance service delivery contracts and the various contracting models.
- Proven track record within the energy maintenance services delivery, in developing and deploying innovative service delivery strategies to maximise organisational returns
