About the Role

The Engineering Manager - Mining is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the Engineering team at Meandu Mine. The position is accountable for providing best value long term delivery of coal to Tarong Power Stations by ensuring asset longevity, efficient utilisation of equipment and adherence to statutory requirements.

The roles accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team ensuring Stanwell’s mining assets are effectively utilised and maintained.
  • Establish and maintain a best for business relationship with the Mining Services Agreement (MSA) service provider.
  • Promote a Zero Harm workplace through leadership that inspires, models, challenges, encourages and empowers safety values and behaviours.
  • Manage the strategic plant and equipment requirements for mining operations as well as development, management and reporting on engineering and maintenance budgets.
  • Build the capability and capacity of the team through creating a learning and solution focussed culture.
  • Manage the implementation of business improvements opportunities following our established business processes.
  • Take responsibility for long term plant performance issues.

About you

  • Tertiary studies in Engineering or a related discipline is essential.
  • Experience in heavy industry, preferably mining.
  • Leadership experience in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to develop and lead project teams for specific initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, understand, communicate, and implement business plans, workforce plans, operating and capital budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and facilitate discussion at all levels of the business.
