About the role
This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Brisbane.
The Commercial Specialist plays a key role in negotiating and executing SAMCo’s new contracts with its growing client base, providing commercial and risk mitigation advice to the Business Growth and Client Relations Manager, and Stanwell Asset Maintenance Company’s (SAMCo) leadership team.
Key activities include:
- Quantify, evaluate and secure business growth opportunities for Stanwell’s maintenance services business, considering strategies for skills development, building renewable energy capability and positioning SAMCo’s services delivery solutions.
- Lead the maintenance service negotiation and execution phase of all new and renewed opportunities for SAMCo to ensure commercial agreements are aligned with the corporate strategy and SAMCo business development plan.
- Draw on a technical and commercial understanding of the renewable energy sector to develop service delivery relationship models, business models, concept studies and business cases to support the growth and service delivery of Stanwell’s renewables maintenance service.
- Ensure that project management occurs within the SAMCo opportunity and governance framework and approved cost, schedule and risk boundaries, and with a positive commercial outcome.
About you
- Extensive relevant industry experience (in industries such as the electricity, resources, infrastructure, commercial construction, and energy and financial markets).
- Demonstrated experience in a legal and/or commercial environment.
- Experience in the preparation and initiation of documentation including confidentiality agreements, memoranda of understanding, term sheets and other legal and commercial instruments.
- Strong negotiation skills, including commercial experience in negotiating legally binding commercial agreements e.g. energy sale agreements.
