  • Drive productivity, standards and innovation, including practical use of AI and automation

About the role

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in Brisbane CBD, with flexible working arrangements. As the Trading Technology and Engineering Manager, you will lead the teams responsible for the delivery, operation and continuous improvement of technology platforms that support Energy Trading and Energy Markets.

Key activities include:

  • Deliver continuous improvement and engineering excellence, including automation and the adoption of modern technologies.
  • Ensure trading platforms and applications meet agreed service levels and lead the technical response to system incidents and outages.
  • Own and manage technology budgets, including cloud services, infrastructure and software licensing.
  • Develop and maintain the engineering strategy and roadmap aligned to business priorities and architectural direction.
  • Drive platform stability, reliability and sustainability through effective management of technical debt and lifecycle planning.
  • Maintain technology policies, standards and procedures in line with regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Manage small to medium-sized projects and oversee agile delivery practices, including sprint planning and delivery cycles.
  • Provide clear reporting on team performance, risks, challenges and forward plans to senior leaders and governance forums.
  • Contribute to broader ICT initiatives, solution design and organisational technology strategy.

About you

You are a collaborative and outcomes-focused leader with strong technical credibility, ideally having grown from a software development background into an engineering leadership role.

You bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience working in agile delivery environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience building, developing and managing high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to balance business priorities, expectations and delivery outcomes.
  • Experience delivering and supporting software engineering solutions within large, complex organisations.
  • Solid understanding of change, configuration and release management practices.
  • Well-developed communication, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a strong focus on reliability, quality and business value.
