KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is responsible for supporting end-to-end claims management activities by assessing claims validity, coordinating claim processing requirements, and delivering high-quality customer service through timely and accurate handling of claims-related matters.
- Obtain and review details required to assess the validity of claims and identify responsible parties for accidents, damages, or losses through inbound phone calls and emails.
- Manage claim lodgement and validation processes in accordance with operational and compliance requirements.
- Interpret basic policy coverage and determine claim applicability, escalating complex matters where necessary.
- Coordinate external assessments, review assessment reports, and support the management of claim fulfilment and repair completion.
- Process claims within delegated authority, including setting reserves, collecting customer excess, and raising payments accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Ensure claims are handled in a cost-effective and efficient manner while maintaining quality service standards.
- Understand and apply GST, ITC, and other relevant financial considerations impacting claims payments and disbursements.
- Address customer enquiries, concerns, and escalations professionally while delivering a high standard of customer service.
- Maintain compliance with complaints handling processes and service standards.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, insurers, suppliers, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Create, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, work instructions, and reference materials to support operational consistency and knowledge management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.
- Support other operational areas during peak periods or business requirements as needed.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
- Assist team members in achieving shared operational goals and service delivery targets.
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate should have at least 1 year experience gained in a customer service, insurance, claims, or shared services environment. Exposure to claims processing, policy interpretation, or insurance operations will be highly regarded.
- Experience in insurance claims processing or customer service support.
- Basic understanding of insurance policy coverage and claims handling principles.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to manage customer interactions professionally and empathetically.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing claims information.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
- Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and claims management systems.
