This opportunity is with Miramar Underwriting Agency, a general insurance underwriting agency that provides business insurance solutions tailored to the client needs of general insurance brokers. A bit about our opportunity
As a Liability Underwriter in the Northern Region team, you will provide underwriting services to the broker market. Your day-to-day tasks will include liaising with brokers and internal staff on policy terms and conditions alongside assisting the company in marketing its brand to the broker network.
In this role, you will:
- Develop new client relationships whilst proactively identifying client requirements
- Influence outcomes that maximise potential for long term relationships, including idea and solution generation with the client
- Collaborate with the client to engage in short term and long-term goal setting.
- Maintain strong customer relations and clarify customer’s needs until fully understood so they can be effectively met.
- Assist with training staff in application of agreed systems and processes to daily workflow.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A highly engaging customer approach combined with the ability to actively manage demanding customers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
- A proactive and goal oriented working style, in which you think outside the box and are able to provide consistent suggestions and improvements
- A high degree of organisational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to change
- Effective time management skills where you can deal with multiple tasks whilst meeting reporting deadlines
- The ability to communicate at all levels in a multiple stakeholder environment- liaison with clients, external service providers and other departments
