The Data Governance Officer is the key figure responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing data governance policies and procedures. The role encompasses ensuring data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance, bridging the gap between technical, legal, and business teams. He/she will set strategic goals for data governance, manage related projects, and facilitate the appropriate use of data across Steadfast Group.
In this role, you will:
- Developing and implementing Data Governance policies and procedures.
- Establishing and enforcing data standards that ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
- Working with data owners to ensure they manage data lifecycle from creation to disposal, including data classification, retention, and disposition.
- Ensuring the security and privacy of the Steadfast’ data, including the development and implementation of data security and privacy policies and procedures.
- Ensuring proper response to data incidents, including data breaches.
- Facilitating data-related communication and collaboration between data owners, stakeholders, and Technology teams to ensure the effective management of data assets.
- Developing and implementing data-related training and awareness programs.
- Monitoring and reporting on data-related risks and compliance.
A bit about you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- At least, 2 years of practical experience in GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance).
- Practical knowledge of Australian and major international privacy regulation and data management requirements, including the Privacy Act, APP, APRA CPS234, GDPR.
- Experience with Business Continuity planning and/or incident response processes.
- Strong Data Management Experience: deep understanding of data management practices, including data governance, data quality, data architecture, and data analytics.
- Strategic thinking mindset and ability to align data initiatives with the overall business strategy.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, to be capable collaborate with other senior leaders across the organisation.
- Ability to structure complex information and present it in a clear understandable form.
- A degree in law, finance, computer science, or related fields.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Punctuality and attention to details.
