We’re currently seeking a Team Manager, Connections to improve service level agreements and the developer experience while also supporting the city's growth by connecting developers to the network and protecting assets.

You will build strong relationships with Sydney Water customers to maximise investment efficiency and improve liveability outcomes aligned to NSW Governments priority housing delivery.

Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of Development Consultants and Customer Data Officers, ensuring efficient task allocation, high performance, and a customer-focused approach to meet service level agreements.

Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in the development application process, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance developer experience, and implement automation and standardisation initiatives.

Customer Advocacy: Build strong relationships with developers and stakeholders, advocating for their needs, resolving disputes, and ensuring timely and customer-centric solutions that protect Sydney Water assets.

Risk Management & Compliance: Oversee risk identification and mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining high-quality service standards and protecting Sydney Water’s interests.

Operational Excellence & Technical Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of guidelines, systems, and processes that improve team efficiency, foster cross-boundary collaboration, and align with strategic business goals.


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. urban planning, engineering, business or related discipline) or experience deemed equivalent.
  • Sound knowledge of the building industry, urban planning, the urban development industry and contemporary approaches to water servicing
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary project teams including understanding and implementing business and commercial outcomes, build commitment, and foster high performance.
  • Team leadership experience and demonstration in forming and leading high performing teams in a positive and constructive environment.
  • Advanced process improvement skills including the identification of key improvement opportunities, documenting the proposed improvements, and training/aligning the development services team against the new way of working.
