Role Description:

The Senior Environment Advisor is an exciting opportunity based at our Perth Central Park office.

The purpose of the role is to develop and implement environmental closure and rehabilitation strategies across Synergy sites, identifying opportunities to deliver positive environmental outcomes.

The role supports the planning, execution, and completion of closure and rehabilitation projects that contribute to environmental improvement and long-term sustainability.

Job responsibilities:

  • Identifying and supporting the steps to meet Synergy’s environmental objectives as the business transitions towards sustainable energy generation
  • Ensure environmental regulatory requirements are met, including supporting the implementation of a strategy to reduce, reuse and recycle waste.
  • Developing and implementing asset closure plans, including obtaining relevant environmental approvals for planned works.
  • Providing technical advice relating to the closure and rehabilitation of Synergy’s sites and preparation of scopes of works and tender documentation for specialist studies.
  • Overseeing and supporting multiple concurrent work streams and can prioritise to ensure key objectives are achieved within allocated timeframes and budget.
  • Preferred experience in environmental waste management and environmental engineering of asset closure projects.

What you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environment related studies (BEnvSc, BEnvMan, BSc, BEnvEng or equivalent degree)
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including project delivery, budgeting, and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically plan and deliver concurrent environmental projects
  • Ability to communicate complex environmental issues across a range of audiences
