We partner with clients and stakeholders to challenge the status quo, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in engineering.

The Role

Let's pause and talk about your career and how you want to grow your technical leadership. At BG&E, we're building a Flooding and Hydrology team in WA where experienced professionals can do meaningful work, contribute to important projects across diverse sectors, and progress their careers in a supportive and inclusive environment. You will:

  • Deliver hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, flood risk assessments, and practical flood management solutions.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to achieve strong project outcomes.
  • Drive technical quality through clear analysis, reporting, and communication of modelling results.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
  • Grow your career in a national business with genuine opportunities to progress into a Team Associate role.

Our WA team is contributing to major projects including the Westport Planning Study, Tonkin Highway Extension, and GNH Fitzroy to GoGo Upgrade, where flood risk management is an important part of delivering resilient, practical and future-focused outcomes.

About You

  • Qualifications in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science, with strong technical capability in hydrology, hydraulic modelling, and flood risk management.
  • 8+ years' experience is ideal, although 6+ years will be considered for candidates with strong relevant experience and the capability to perform at Senior Engineer level.
  • Australian consulting experience is essential, with WA experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in mining and/or major infrastructure projects is preferred, particularly where this includes flood assessments, drainage design, or flood risk management inputs for complex engineering projects.
  • Strong experience developing and reviewing hydrologic and hydraulic models, with advanced knowledge of tools such as RORB, TUFLOW (essential), and HEC-RAS. Experience with 12d and DRAINS will also be highly regarded.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear technical reporting, communicate insights with confidence, and build trusted relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.

What do we offer?

  • Flexible working arrangements to help achieve real work life balance.
  • Health and wellbeing support via a confidential Employee Assistance Program.
  • Competitive remuneration.
  • On-the-job coaching to help you be the best you can be, including leveraging BG&E's global network of experts to help you realise your professional development goals to grow your career at BG&E.
