The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal Bridge Engineer to join our dynamic team in either Brisbane or Sydney. This is a pivotal role responsible for the technical leadership and delivery of complex bridge and viaduct design projects, as well as playing a key part in the development and growth of our local bridge engineering team. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background in bridge and structural engineering, proven design management capabilities, and a passion for leveraging digital engineering tools to deliver innovative and efficient solutions. You will have the opportunity to contribute to significant infrastructure projects, making a tangible impact on the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the design and analysis of complex bridge and viaduct structures, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Provide expert technical advice and guidance to project teams on all aspects of bridge engineering.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, including architects, civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, and environmental specialists.
• Develop and implement project-specific design management plans and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status in Australia or equivalent recognised professional registration.
• Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in bridge and structural engineering design, with a significant portion focused on bridge and viaduct projects.
• Demonstrated experience in the design management of complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (e.g., AS 5100), codes of practice, and design guidelines.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, MIDAS Civil, RM Bridge).
• Experience with digital engineering tools and workflows, including BIM software (e.g., Revit, Civil 3D) and parametric design tools (e.g., Grasshopper, Dynamo) is highly desirable.
