Greenbushes Lithium Operation

About the Role

Reporting to the Mining Manager, the successful candidate will provide leadership and accountability for mine support activities that enable the safe, efficient and ongoing operation of the mine. The role is responsible for running the tailings remining contract, coordinating contractor performance and interfaces, and delivering capital projects that support mining continuity, operating infrastructure, environmental compliance and future mine requirements.

Join our team on an attractive 5:2 residential roster, with this permanent, full-time opportunity based in the beautiful Greenbushes region. Accommodation options are available, with alternative roster arrangements considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide safe and effective leadership of mine support activities required to maintain ongoing mine operations;
  • Manage the tailings remining contract including contractor safety performance, compliance,and production delivery, cost control and day-to-day execution;
  • Coordinate tailings remining interfaces with mining, processing, maintenance, technical services, environment and other site users;
  • Ensure hazards, critical controls and environmental controls are identified, communicated and verified before work commences;
  • Develop, implement and monitor short- and medium-term execution plans for remining, supporting earthworks and mine infrastructure activities;
  • Lead the delivery of capital projects that support the ongoing running of the mine, including scope development, scheduling, budget control, procurement support, construction supervision, commissioning and handover;
  • Monitor contractor progress against agreed plans, budgets and performance measures and address non-compliance or underperformance in a timely manner;
  • Ensure mining support infrastructure is maintained, improved and fit for purpose to enable safe and productive operations; and
  • Support environmental and rehabilitation activities associated with remining, clearing, topsoil handling, drainage, water management and earthworks.

About the Candidate:

  • Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience;
  • Experience in mine planning and project management.
  • Supervision and Risk Management training according to WA Work Health and Safety Act 2022
  • Ability to demonstrate effective people management skills;
  • Extensive contractor management experience;
  • Experience in leading incident investigations and reporting;
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret mine safety regulations; and
  • Understanding of environmental management systems.
