We deliver power to Tasmanians. Our vision is to be trusted by our customers to deliver today and create a better tomorrow.

We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.

About the Role

Shape fair, competitive and future-focused reward frameworks

At TasNetworks, we’re building a workforce that reflects the communities we serve - diverse, capable and empowered. We’re looking for a Remuneration & Benefits Specialist who brings both analytical strength and thoughtful judgement to help design reward strategies that are equitable, transparent and aligned with our future direction.

This is a high-impact role where your expertise will directly influence how we attract, retain and recognise our people.

As our Remuneration & Benefits Specialist, you’ll lead the design and evolution of remuneration and benefits frameworks that are contemporary, market-aligned and built for a changing workforce. You’ll partner closely with senior leaders and People teams, providing trusted advice on complex remuneration and classification matters while ensuring compliance and fairness at every step.

You’ll bring both strategic thinking and attention to detail; balancing data-driven insights with a strong sense of equity and integrity.

You’ll be responsible for, but not limited to –

  • Leading the design, governance and delivery of remuneration, benefits and classification frameworks that support organisational strategy and workforce needs
  • Providing expert, trusted advice to senior leaders and People Partners on remuneration, job evaluation, benefits and complex classification matters
  • Developing and implementing remuneration strategies that support attraction and retention in critical and hard-to-fill roles
  • Conducting complex remuneration assessments and job evaluations using Mercer methodology, ensuring internal equity and defensible outcomes
  • Designing and maintaining salary structures, progression models, allowances and incentive frameworks that are compliant and competitive
  • Delivering high-quality remuneration insights, including benchmarking, pay equity analysis, workforce cost modelling and forecasting

About you

You’ll bring a depth of experience in remuneration and workforce strategy, along with a strong foundation in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations or a related field — whether through formal qualifications or significant professional experience. Your expertise will include applying job evaluation methodologies such as Mercer within complex organisational environments, and using these frameworks to support fair and consistent outcomes.

You’re comfortable operating at a senior level, with proven experience providing strategic remuneration or workforce advice to executives and leaders. You combine strong analytical capability with sound judgement, and you’re able to interpret workforce data, undertake modelling and translate insights into clear, practical recommendations.

Your ability to build trusted relationships will be key. You communicate complex concepts in a way that is accessible and meaningful, and you’re confident influencing across the People function, Finance and senior leadership. You also bring a strong understanding of relevant legislation and industrial frameworks, including the Fair Work Act, modern awards, enterprise agreements, and superannuation and taxation considerations.

Experience contributing to organisational change, remuneration reviews or enterprise bargaining will be highly valued, as will your ability to produce high-quality written work — from policies and frameworks through to position descriptions and executive or Board-level papers.

What's on offer

This is a permanent opportunity based out of Hobart with an attractive remuneration and benefits package.
