At TasNetworks, vegetation management plays a critical role in keeping our network safe, reliable and resilient for communities across Tasmania.
Based at our Cambridge depot, we’re looking for a practical and motivated Vegetation Officer to help support the delivery of our statewide vegetation program across both the Distribution and Transmission network.
This is a hands-on field-based role where you’ll work closely with contractors, landholders, councils and internal teams to ensure vegetation works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with compliance requirements.
In this role, you will:
- Support the delivery of TasNetworks’ vegetation management program across the network
- Monitor contractor performance and complete field audits to ensure safe, compliant and efficient delivery
- Coordinate outages, inspections and vegetation works across your allocated area
- Work closely with landholders, councils, contractors and internal stakeholders to resolve field issues
- Support bushfire readiness, risk management and program delivery outcomes
- Maintain accurate reporting, compliance and contractor administration activities
About you
You’re someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems in the field and building strong relationships with a wide range of people. You’re organised, safety-focused and confident working both independently and as part of a team.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Experience in vegetation management, arboriculture or a related field
- Contractor management or field coordination experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to balance customer service, safety and risk when working with the public
- A practical understanding of safety, environmental and compliance requirements
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
- Certificate II in Arboriculture (desirable)
- UETDREL006 Working Safely Near Live Electrical Apparatus (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid qualification and current driver’s licence
This is a great opportunity to work in a role that combines fieldwork, stakeholder engagement and operational delivery while helping protect Tasmania’s electricity network and surrounding environment.
You’ll enjoy variety in your day, travel across some of Tasmania’s best locations and be part of a team delivering important work for communities across the state.
