We deliver power to Tasmanians. Our vision is to be trusted by our customers to deliver today and create a better tomorrow.

We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.

About the role

Are you looking for an opportunity to help shape the delivery of one of Tasmania’s most significant energy infrastructure projects?

TasNetworks is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably experienced professionals to join as Independent Chair of our Stakeholder Liaison Group (SLG) for the North West Transmission Developments (NWTD).

Working an average of 5 hours per month, key responsibilities include:

  • Championing the collective perspectives and recommendations of SLG members to TasNetworks
  • Ensuring TasNetworks genuinely considers SLG perspectives and recommendations in project decision making
  • Collaborating with TasNetworks to plan meetings, engagement activities and member enrichment opportunities
  • Ensuring effective two-way information flow between SLG members and TasNetworks

About the Stakeholder Liaison Group

The SLG is a key engagement forum that supports the construction and commissioning of the NWTD. Their purpose is to:

  • enable stakeholders to directly share feedback on behalf of the organisations or communities they represent, ensuring TasNetworks understands local needs, priorities and concerns
  • identify emerging risks and issues early so they can be addressed in a transparent and timely way
  • foster positive, constructive relationships between TasNetworks and stakeholders to support smooth project delivery
  • provide opportunities for stakeholders to shape positive outcomes for local communities
  • offer a structured forum for TasNetworks to share clear and timely project updates.

The Independent Chair is a pivotal role, acting as the conduit between SLG members and TasNetworks – providing leadership, guidance and support to enable the group to achieve its purpose.

The group meets quarterly. In general, meeting duration will be three (3) hours. Read more about the SLG, including the group’s Terms of Reference here.
