We deliver power to Tasmanians. Our vision is to be trusted by our customers to deliver today and create a better tomorrow.

We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.

About the role

At TasNetworks we’re enabling the next generation of energy infrastructure - connecting major customers to Tasmania’s transmission network and supporting the transition to a sustainable and renewable National Electricity Market.

We’re looking to grow our team with a new Transmission Connection Manager to lead high-profile, complex transmission connection projects across our capital portfolio. You will work with major renewable energy, industrial and commercial customers to progress connection opportunities from early development through to connection and drive positive outcomes for customers, regulators, and shareholders alike. This is an opportunity to contribute to some of the State's most significant energy and infrastructure projects, influence how major customers connect to the transmission network and build long-term industry relationships.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Lead complex transmission connections within TasNetworks’ high-profile Transmission Connections Portfolio, delivering customer, regulatory, commercial and revenue outcomes
  • Lead the commercial assessment and negotiation of complex connection arrangements, balancing customer requirements, commercial returns, risk, compliance and performance parameters.
  • Deliver effective customer onboarding through consistent connection strategies, governance and processes that support organisational growth, customer experience and sustainable shareholder returns.
  • Manage connection risks and opportunities, applying sound commercial judgement and continuous improvement to protect TasNetworks’ interests and improve connection outcomes.
  • Build and sustain strong, trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders across the National Electricity Market.

If you’re ready to lead complex connections and leave a lasting impact on Tasmania’s energy system, we’d love to hear from you.

About you

You’re a confident professional who thrives in complexity and can navigate and influence high-profile customer connections through uncertainty and change. You can balance competing priorities, understand complex technical issues and translate them into clear commercial and customer outcomes, and deliver services which add value for our customers, our shareholders and the business.

You build credibility quickly and are recognised as a trusted partner by customers and stakeholders. With a collaborative and customer-centric mindset, you bring people together, ask the right questions, lead multidisciplinary teams and guide diverse groups toward practical, sustainable outcomes - even in fast-moving or changing environments.

You’re analytical and solutions-focused and have proven stakeholder management and negotiation skills with the ability to manage competing interests and challenging issues. You’re equally comfortable zooming into detail or stepping back to see the bigger picture, with excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide clear advice to senior stakeholders and support decision-making.

To strengthen your application, you’ll also bring:

  • Strong commercial acumen and experience developing or negotiating agreements, contracts or commercial arrangements.
  • A practical understanding of the National Electricity Rules, ideally with exposure to large-scale renewable energy projects and complex generation or load agreements.
  • Strong digital capability, including experience with tools such as SAP, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office suite, to support reporting, collaboration, and delivery

What's on offer

This is a Permanent full time opportunity, offering an attractive remuneration and benefits package.

At TasNetworks we want to power a bright future for our people, our community and our customers. We offer a supportive work environment where safety is at the heart of everything we do.
