We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.
About the role
This critical role will be responsible for the development and delivery of community engagement and communications strategies to implement plans for the North West Transmission Developments. Managing relevant resources, budget and risks you’ll create open and collaborative communication and engagement channels with internal and external stakeholders resulting project objectives that are understood, supported and maximised.
Applying best practice community engagement principles, the role will build strong community connections, ensure community participation is central to engagement activities and help identify opportunities for collaboration and benefit sharing.

About you
With expertise and experience at the highest level in all forms of communication and community engagement, you will have proven reputation management and engagement experience that can be applied to a major infrastructure project. Demonstrating consistent and strong leadership behaviours whilst supporting peers and leaders in a constructive and collaborative way will enable you to effectively navigate through ambiguity, change and challenge. An understanding of the Australian energy sector, together with tertiary qualifications in Social Science/Communications/Public Relations will complement your ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
