We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.

About the role

Our Distribution System Coordinators are responsible for ensuring quality electrical supply to all customers within the Tasmanian Distribution System.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Network Operations team as a Distribution System Coordinator. The role will primarily focus on the development of planned and unplanned switching on the Tasmanian Distribution System to enable new installation, maintenance and emergency repairs. The successful candidate will also be fully trained in operation of the Tasmanian Distribution system and provide support to the Control Room.

Through this process you will learn about the Tasmanian distribution network, and how to use the operational tools including our Network Operations Control Systems and NetMaps to create safe, effective switching plans for our field operators while maintaining supply to as many of our customers as we can during planned outages, without overloading our distribution assets.

About you

Ideally you will have a strong interest in learning our power distribution system along with an A-grade Electrical Trade Qualification or equivalent.

You will be self-motivated and work well in a team environment where you are required understand and meet the needs of internal and external customers.

Had experience or willing to be on a 24/7 operating shift pattern to ensure we are there for our customers and teams across all hours.
