We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.
About the role
We have a great opportunity for you to join the Ground Service team as an Electrician in the South of the state, based out of our Cambridge depot.
Working in this role you will be required to work on the Supply and distribution of HV and LV ground & underground assets for the southern region of Tasmania.
As a qualified trades person you will be required to teach and mentor apprentices to achieve their qualification.
You may have the opportunity to assist with on call and over time as required. Working a 9 day fortnight has its advantages to gain a long weekend every second week.
The asset voltages are 11kv, 22kv, 415v and 240v that you will be working on.
Work will involve construction, testing & commissioning of new infrastructure – building sub stations pad mount Kiosks, new & old subdivisions, supply upgrades and street lighting.

About you
We are looking for a both passionate & motivated individual that demonstrates the ability to get things done in the most efficiently and safely. Focusing on continuous improvement, you will consistently achieve results and work with your peers to achieve team and business objectives.
You will be a part of a small team that is made up of qualified Electricians, Lineworkers, cable jointers and apprentices to achieve a program of work at times you may be required to work autonomously.
Having knowledge of SAP and Microsoft packages, you will hold Electrical Certificate III or equivalent proficiency or qualification, Tasmanian practitioners licence or willing to obtain, High Risk Work Licences for Dogging (DG), Elevating Work Platforms (WP) is desirable.
Having already completed the Cert 3 ESI – Cable Jointing will be highly regarded for this role
