We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.
About the role
As a Senior Management Accountant, your primary objective is to provide specialised management accounting services that enable informed business decisions and drive the delivery of our strategic objectives. You will play a vital role in coordinating and supporting a team of Finance Partners and Accounting Specialists in delivering the financial budgeting and forecasting cycle for TasNetworks and its subsidiaries. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that this process adds value and aligns with our strategic business plans and financial strategy.
In addition to financial planning and forecasting, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial health of our operations through effective internal financial control processes. You will generate consolidated business reports and provide decision support to facilitate informed decision-making across the organisation.

About you
To ensure success, it is necessary to have the following qualifications and skills:
Proven experience in contemporary financial management, budgeting and forecasting processes is essential. You should be able to effectively connect these processes to strategic planning. Having strong influencing and negotiation skills are vital. These skills will enable you to drive favourable outcomes and build productive relationships.
A qualification in CA or CPA qualification in commerce, or other relevant professional competence, along with a demonstrated period of suitable experience, is a requirement.
Proficiency in Excel and adeptness in analysing data, along with previous experience using ERP systems, are crucial skills for the role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. You should also be capable of effectively managing stakeholders, promoting commercial understanding, fostering ownership, and encouraging the adoption of financial performance outcomes.
Having a forward-thinking mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement is essential. This attitude ensures adaptability and an eagerness to embrace new opportunities and challenges.
The ability to foster teamwork and collaboration, along with a proven track record of coaching and mentoring experience, is valuable. This skill set contributes to creating a positive and supportive work environment.
