We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.
About the role
The role of Field Construction Officer is in the field operations area, A primary focus is to deliver a great service to both external and internal customers, particularly in the realm of Distribution electricity supply.
A key responsibility is the rapid and efficient response to faults, prioritising customer and personal safety. To achieve this, the utilisation of various construction resources, including the pro-line erector, borer, staking unit, and other designated tools within the business, is integral to providing a streamlined and effective service.
Timeliness and adherence to safety standards are crucial facets of the role. The incumbent is accountable for completing assigned tasks to an acceptable standard within designated timeframes. This commitment to quality and compliance is paramount in sustaining the overall effectiveness of the position.

About you
To be successful in this role a Construction White Card is a fundamental prerequisite, attesting to your familiarity with crucial safety protocols and procedures within construction environments.
Acquiring a Heavy Combination Drivers Licence empowers you to skilfully operate heavy combination vehicles, facilitating the effective and secure transportation of substantial loads.
If you are equipped with a High-Risk Work Licence - Vehicle Loading Crane (CV), it validates your ability to operate a vehicle loading crane. This capability proves indispensable for tasks involving the loading and unloading of heavy items.
Similarly, holding a High-Risk Work Licence - 20T Slewing Crane (C2) is indicative of your proficiency in operating a 20T slewing crane. This skill is critically important in various lifting and construction operations, ensuring precision and safety. Should you not hold these qualifications there may be the opportunity to undertake these licences.
Having a high-risk work licence in both dogging and rigging is highly desirable for this role.
Furthermore, your demonstrated ability to consistently deliver positive outcomes, even when faced with challenging circumstances, serves as a testament to your resilience and unwavering determination. These qualities are essential for success in this role.
By possessing and embodying these qualifications and skills, you will be exceptionally well-prepared to meet the demands of the role, effectively ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and successful construction, maintenance, and emergency services to the Field Operations area.
