We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.
About the role
As the Operations Improvement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence within our Field Operations group in order to deliver a safe, efficient and cost-effective program of work.
The Field Operations group undertakes inspection, repair, construction and fault response activities on TasNetworks’ Transmission and Distribution networks. You will work with leaders across Planning, Works Preparation, Scheduling and Delivery functions to monitor performance, identify improvement and implement change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiative Leadership: Take a lead role in major initiatives, operational change, and continuous improvement efforts within Field Operations.
- Collaboration: Proactively engage with Field Operations leadership to identify and prioritise improvement initiatives aligned with our strategic objectives.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with Field Operations personnel to ensure alignment and ability to influence improvement.
- Change Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for change, overseeing a framework that drives stakeholder engagement and manages risk.
- Digital Integration: Understand TasNetworks' digital strategy and influence alignment with Field Operations requirements. Continuously review and optimize digital tools to maximize their potential.
About you
Business reporting and insight capabilities, along with experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six-Sigma are essential to success in this role.
You will have demonstrated change and risk management capability, with excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to form strong relationships and work successfully with multiple stakeholders.
You will have proven experience in providing support and coaching within teams to develop the capability to implement positive change, whilst also effectively managing conflict.
The successful candidate for this role will have tertiary qualifications in business or commerce, or equivalent professional competence and experience in a similar role.
