We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.

This role will be part of the leadership team, contributing to the start up of a new large scale energy business across Tasmania.
The role will involve:
- Creating strong business relationships with large scale customers in the commercial space, using your credible engineering and operational knowledge and influential communication skills
- Develop, lead and manage the engineering, compliance, service integrity and product development of the business
- Lead and oversee the technical strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals
- Provide guidance and direction to the technical teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration
- Drive innovative optimization and development of products and services in support of our brand and corporate growth strategies
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and best practice
- Ensure high integrity of service delivery within our customer experience
About you
We need the motivated, and the curious. A leader who brings together ideas on how we can best serve our customers, who is always looking for opportunities to create a new future for energy in Tasmania.
You will be commercially minded with strong technical skills, have proven experience leading a team whilst consistently using initiative and creative thinking to drive large scale projects.
To be successful in this role you will also need:
- Demonstrated experience in managing the development and delivery of large scale infrastructure
- Experience in negotiating and managing complex commercial and technical contracts
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills across all levels, with the ability to represent the business within various professional settings
- A high level of business acumen, critical thinking and problem solving aptitude
- Experience in analysing complex technical requirements and developing sound solutions
- A demonstrated understanding of the large scale renewable energy market, energy transformation and the network connection framework is desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in Engineering and extensive professional experience
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high performing teams
- Familiarity operating in regulatory frameworks

Location
This role can be tailored to suit the geographical location of the successful candidate by offering a remote/hybrid structure to perform the duties of the role.
Some travel and site presence will be required, however, we are open to discussing how this would work best for you.
