We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.
About the role
The Communications Advisor works collaboratively with team members and internal and external stakeholders to develop clear and accessible internal and external communications materials ready for publishing across a variety of channels, including social media.
This role will give you exposure to assisting with the implementation of the Brand and Communications Strategy across digital channels, production and delivery of traditional and social media releases, oversight of the delivery of communications tasks from media releases to speeches and talking points, and a heavy involvement in engaging with staff and our customers.

About you
To be considered for this role, you will ideally be tertiary trained in Communications, Marketing, Media, Public Relations or have equivalent experience. Your deep understanding of and experience in all forms of digital media, communications and engagement will set you apart.
You will have impeccable written and verbal communication skills, coupled with your strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, to effectively work with the Corporate Affairs team to achieve TasNetworks’ strategic communication objectives.
The successful candidate will also have –
- An understanding of digital file management, image handling, file types and sizes
- familiarity with development and implementation of digital content, including imagery and video
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable and able to work in a pressurised environment
