We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.

About the role

Band 4 - salary range $88,641 - $125,141 per annum (plus Super)

Are you an experienced Procurement Specialist? We are on the hunt for a superstar to join the Supply Chain team within TasNetworks!

As a Procurement Specialist you will be responsible for the management of procurement documentation through meticulous preparation and administration. Engage and collaborate with the Commercial Supply Chain team to assist in the development of long-term category strategies.

By engaging with various stakeholders across the business at all levels, ensure procurement activities are aligned with organisational priorities. Identify and contribute to procurement process improvements.

The Procurement Specialist will lead the development of sourcing strategies for non-category procurement processes for expenditure across goods, services and technology.

About you

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a procurement specialist or similar role and ideally hold relevant tertiary qualifications (which may include supply chain management, procurement, contract law or commerce disciplines).

Ideally, you will have worked in a government environment with an understanding of government procurement, probity protocols and compliance. The need for advanced interpersonal skills including influencing, consultation, negotiation and relationship building are essential to the success of this role.

We’d also love for you to have –

  • Change management experience with the ability to introduce and assist the management of change and deliver agreed outcomes
  • Adaptability to remain flexible and meet unexpected demands and competing priorities
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to develop and administer complex policies, processes and reports
