We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.
About the role
Base salary from $86,849 per annum (plus super) - total package to be negotiated with preferred candidate based on skills and experience
Working within our Distribution Field Operations team, we have an opportunity for an experienced Field Construction Officer to join our Burnie OR Devonport based crews. This is a hands-on role out in field, assisting the team in building, maintaining and repairing the electricity network across the local area.
The role is responsible for providing service to internal and external customers in distribution electricity supply, using the pro-line erector, borer, staking unit and other construction resources available.
As a Field Construction Officer, you are required to attend to assigned tasks as well as service faults in a timely manner, managing customer expectations and always ensuring safety compliance for both the customer and all TasNetworks employees. Works are to be completed to an acceptable standard, ensuring quality and compliance is consistently maintained.
About you
To be successful as a Field Construction Officer at TasNetworks, you will hold a Construction White Card, together with one or more of the following licences (desirable not essential):
- High Risk Work Licence – Basic Rigging, Dogging, Vehicle Loading Crane, 20T Slewing Crane
- Heavy Combination Drivers Licence/Heavy Rigid Drivers Licence/Medium Rigid Drivers Licence, coupled with proven experience in operating such machinery.
You’re practical, safety-focused and work well in a team. You take pride in doing quality work and are willing to work after hours and attend emergency call-outs. You will offer good communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude.
