We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.

About the role

 

At TasNetworks, our people are central to delivering safe, reliable and sustainable energy for Tasmania. As we continue to modernise our workforce and systems, we are seeking an experienced Leader, People Systems and Services to lead our payroll and people systems capability and drive a contemporary, efficient and high-quality employee experience.

Reporting within the People Experience function, this role provides strategic and operational leadership of the Payroll and People Systems team. You will be accountable for ensuring people systems, payroll, compliance and reporting services meet organisational needs and support TasNetworks’ strategy.

In addition to leading the function, you will be accountable for the design and delivery of TasNetworks’ remuneration and classification framework and providing influence to the effective implementation and governance of Enterprise Bargaining outcomes.

Working closely with leaders across the People Experience function and broader organisation, you will provide expert payroll and systems advice and translate opportunities in systems and services through the use of technology, innovation and automation to improve service delivery, reduce risk and create value for the business.

 

About you

 

You are a senior people systems and payroll leader with strong commercial acumen and a passion for delivering high-quality, end-to-end people services. You bring sound judgement, a strategic mindset and the ability to influence in complex environments.

 

You will bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior Payroll or People Systems role
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or equivalent experience
  • Proven delivery of end-to-end people systems and services
  • Experience leading teams and building capability
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain stakeholder relations
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • A strategic, resilient mindset with a focus on practical solutions
  • Experience leading change and continuous improvement
  • A collaborative, agile approach and commitment to positive employee experience
