The Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Maintenance Planner to join our Bell Bay team to ensure all maintenance related activities are effectively planned and scheduled with the respective Tradespeople. You will display a high level of initiative to ensure the tradespeople can seek the information and resources they require, to achieve the outputs (maintenance works completion) as scheduled to meet business operational continuity.

You will possess the skills to understand and implement quality control techniques and provide guidance and assistance as part of the works team. You will also have good interpersonal, stakeholder liaison and communication skills.

Role responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that maintenance schedules are developed to optimise equipment reliability and availability.

  • Liaising directly with coordinators, engineers, trades and marine teams regarding equipment performance to determine maintenance requirements and reliability issues to be addressed.

  • Planning and scheduling labour, resources and parts for maintenance activities.

  • Reviewing reports and ensuring that all relevant information is accurately entered into Maximo (AIMS) for corrective actions.

  • Engaging Maintenance Coordinators, and leading planning and scheduling meetings weekly.

  • Maintaining the Maximo Maintenance system (AIMS) to ensure all maintenance plans and information is correct.

  • Maintaining compliance with legislative requirements pertaining to all work undertaken through interpreting local, State and National Codes of Practice, including interpretation of instructions, specifications, blueprints, and legislation.

This is a contract position (maximum 12-months) based in Bell Bay.

What you will have (essential):

  • Relevant trade qualification or demonstrated experience in a similar position or field.

  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance activities, particularly prioritising planning and scheduling work according to priority of safety and operational expectations.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the current principles, methods and techniques required of and used in the maintenance planning.

  • Proven awareness and understanding of health, safety and environmental policies and principles and their practical application in the workplace.

  • Proficient use of digital platforms including Microsoft Office Suite of applications.

  • Current unrestricted Tasmanian drivers’ license.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).

Desirable:

  • Experience in applying lean manufacturing principles.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.

  • Experience working with Preventative Maintenance Programs, Asset Management Information Systems. (AMIS)/Work Management Systems (WMS), Maximo Maintenance System.
