The role
We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-oriented individual to provide day-to-day on the ground operational support associated with shipping movements and general port operations.
Your ability to work collaboratively, work both under direction and autonomously and have the ability to communicate effective with a range of stakeholders will ensure your success in this role.
Responsibilities

Inspect, monitor and report on all TasPorts wharf and port facilities and activities. This includes the reporting of risks and hazards as it relates to health, safety and environment issues.

Provide general support duties associated with shipping movements and general port operations including issuing of permits.

Ensure all relevant services provided are recorded and charged appropriately.

Provide assistance with port incident and emergency responses (including oil spill).

Maintain and operate plant, equipment and machinery within levels of competence and certification.
This is a casual role based on Flinders Island.
Please note: we are seeking availability for weekend shifts, public holidays and after hours.

Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or ability to obtain.
