The role
As we continue to modernise our operations and uplift our digital and data maturity, we’re seeking a Senior Business Analyst to play a key role in shaping the future of digital and data solutions across TasPorts.
Reporting into the IT Program Manager, the Senior Business Analyst will lead the analysis, discovery, and requirements definition that underpin our digital transformation initiatives. You’ll partner with operational, corporate, and technical stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable solution designs that support TasPorts’ strategic priorities and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end business analysis across digital, data, and technology projects

Facilitate workshops, process mapping, and requirements gathering with stakeholders across ports, marine operations, corporate services, and asset management

Develop detailed business, functional, and technical requirements

Partner with project managers, solution architects, data specialists, and vendors to ensure solution alignment

Assess current-state processes and identify opportunities for optimisation, automation, and digital enhancement

Support business case development, feasibility assessments, and options analysis

Contribute to enterprise digital and data standards, ensuring solutions align with organisational strategy

Champion user experience, change readiness, and adoption throughout project delivery
This role is based in the TasPorts Hobart Corporate office.
About you
The key experience we are looking for includes:

5+ years of demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst working on digital projects, products, or transformation initiatives.

Experience eliciting, documenting, and managing requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary delivery teams.

Background supporting testing, defect triage, and validation of digital solutions against defined requirements.

Experience contributing to change readiness, user training, and adoption activities for digital solutions.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, actionable insights.
What you will have
Essential
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Business, IT, Data).
- Formal training or certification in Business Analysis (e.g., IIBA ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, BPMN).
- Current unrestricted Tasmanian drivers licence.
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
Desirable
- Certification or training in Waterfall and Agile project delivery frameworks (e.g., PRINCE2, Scrum Master, Agile BA, SAFe) is an advantage.
