The Role
As the Learning & Development Business Partner, you will work closely with leaders across TasWater to build workforce capability and support organisational performance. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will identify learning and development needs, design effective capability solutions, and drive initiatives that help our people grow, adapt, and succeed.
You will lead the development and delivery of contemporary learning programs aligned to business priorities, compliance requirements, and future workforce needs. Using data, insights, and emerging learning technologies, you will create impactful learning experiences that enhance employee capability, support career development, and contribute to a high-performing and future-ready workforce.
- Partner with leaders and key stakeholders to diagnose business capability needs and co-design learning solutions aligned to current and future organisational priorities.
- Ensure learning solutions meet compliance, regulatory, and organisational requirements while supporting a positive employee experience.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on learning and development strategies, adult learning principles, and capability development.
- Build strong relationships with operational teams and senior leaders to understand business priorities, workforce challenges, and capability requirements.
- Facilitate engagement and collaboration between leaders, subject matter experts, and external providers to deliver effective learning outcomes.

What we're looking for
We're seeking a proactive and driven Learning & Development professional who is passionate about building capability and creating meaningful learning experiences. You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where stakeholder needs can vary across the business.
The ideal candidate will be a strong relationship builder who can confidently engage with operational teams, subject matter experts, and senior leaders to understand business challenges and translate them into practical learning solutions. You will bring a collaborative approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence and drive outcomes through others.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent demonstrated capability in learning and development or a related discipline within a complex organisation.
- Strong understanding of both operational and corporate environments, with the ability to tailor learning solutions to diverse business needs.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships and partner with stakeholders across operational teams and senior leadership.
- Proven experience working effectively within high-performing, cross-functional teams and contributing to shared goals and continuous improvement.
- Highly organised with strong planning and coordination skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality outcomes on time.

The Details
This role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary of $135,072 - $150,080 (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
