The Opportunity
Each year TasWater undertakes over 250,000 routine
tests to ensure our customers receive safe clean drinking water.
This position will undertake testing sampling of
water and wastewater in and around Greater Hobart with a strong focus on
quality and safety. It's okay if you haven't done this type of
work before, as we will train you to sample and test, and also offer other
courses such as 4WD and manual handling.
This position involves working alone, at times in remote
locations. A good level of physical fitness is required as the role
includes manual handling, climbing, reaching, and walking on uneven
ground.
This is a permanent part time position for 16 hours
per week. These hours can be performed flexibly over Tuesday, Wednesday and
Thursday, making this a great role to work around family or study commitments.
The position attracts an hourly rate of $32 per hour (plus superannuation).
Key Accountabilities
- Perform programmed and
ad-hoc field testing and sampling.
- Plan and prepare work in
accordance with the sampling schedule.
- Maintain sampling stock and
equipment (eg. calibrations).
- Assist with the review of
sample locations.
- Report quality control
issues.
- Maintain records in relevant databases and information systems.
Your Application
