The Opportunity
TasWater is progressing through an exciting phase of developing strategic master plans for our water systems across Tasmania. This position will be instrumental in leading our water planning work and providing expert technical guidance to engineering staff in the water space. A background in hydrology would be highly advantageous.
We offer:
- Full or part time (0.8) employment to November 2024
- A salary package of $134- 152K per annum (including superannuation)
- Flexible location – Hobart, Launceston or Devonport

Key Accountabilities
- Provide expert technical leadership in water system planning, including hydrological studies and reports.
- Lead and train engineers and other employees in engineering methodologies and relevant systems.
- Work within and across teams, liaising with engineers and specialists to ensure accurate and comprehensive outcomes.
- Apply established and innovative engineering methods to complex problems and recommend and implement initiatives to improve asset performance.
- Lead and contribute to the development, maintenance and application of hydraulic models for water systems to understand system capacity, inform future network augmentation plans and assist with system optimisation.
