The Opportunity
We are building a team to guide us in reducing our contribution to climate change, improving the resilience of our assets to climate change impacts, and utilising circular economy practices so we can continue to make a positive difference to Tasmania. This is a genuine opportunity to shape the future of our beautiful island.
You will lead and coordinate our efforts to improve the efficiency
of our energy use and increase our generation of renewable energy, while
driving our commitments to sustainability and climate change adaptation
and mitigation.
This position is for a maximum term of 2 years, and can be based in Hobart, Launceston or Devonport. The position can be full or part time and offers flexible work patterns, flexible start and finish times, and hybrid work arrangements. The position attracts a total remuneration package of $134 - 170K per annum (including superannuation).
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the development and implementation of strategies and action plans to achieve TasWater's renewable energy and energy efficiency goals.
- Lead the assessment of current energy use and identify opportunities for reduction.
- Lead the assessment of potential renewable energy opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for renewable energy partnerships and purchase agreements.
- Develop and implement strategies and action plans to achieve TasWater's net-zero greenhouse gas emissions goals.
- Conduct assessments of current greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and identify opportunities for reduction.
- Develop and implement strategies and action plans to mitigate climate change risks and enhance resilience across all aspects of TasWater's operations.
Your Application
Your application must include a cover letter that tells us about:
- Why you are interested in this role.
- Your experience in renewable energy, energy efficiency strategies or energy management.
- Your familiarity with renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency measures, and carbon offset projects.
- Your knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting methodologies (i.e. National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme), carbon neutrality principles, and relevant international standards.
- Your ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
