The Opportunity
We are seeking a driven and experienced Category Manager to spearhead our strategic category management efforts and deliver sustainable value for TasWater.
This is a permanent position that can be based in Hobart, Launceston or Devonport.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and shape Strategic Category Management.
- Lead and mentor a team of Category Specialists.
- Champion cultural change for a high-performing category management team.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with stakeholder needs.
- Conduct market analysis to inform category strategies.
- Ensure compliance and foster innovation across categories.
About the Successful Applicant
- Degree in Law, Business, Commerce, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or category management.
- Prior leadership of a category team.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Expertise in procurement best practices and supplier relationship management.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and procurement software.
- Previous experience in a Utilities organisation is highly regarded.
This role will involve some overnight and local travel and a Driver’s License is a mandatory requirement for the position.
