The Role
This role reports to the Head of Health and Safety and sits in our People, Culture and Safety Team and will lead transformational change in Occupational Health & Safety that focuses on high-risk work and mental health, aiming to reduce and prevent workplace injuries and illness.
Some of the things you’ll be
responsible for include:
Apply specialist and strategic expertise to develop and deliver our multi-year H&S Strategy and Program of Work, and effectively address complex H&S issues, lift organisational capability, and drive improved outcomes.- Lead the strategic development of H&S key result areas to achieve continuous improvement, including the development and maintenance of a modern, simple and accessible safety management system, and the oversight of an ambitious transformational program of work.
- Identify business requirements for modern H&S technology solutions and partner with key stakeholders to implement solutions, and/or upgrade existing ones
- Oversee and deliver all internal and external reporting, data and analytics requirements for the H&S function.
- Develop and maintain TasWater culture by nurturing an environment of continuous learning, personal growth and empowerment, and utilising the cultural and leadership data to set direction and drive cultural change outcomes.
What we're looking for
This is a critical role in our H&S team and to be successful you will need to be a health and safety expert who has experience in medium to large, complex, high-risk organisations. The key skills we are looking for include:
- Tertiary qualifications in health and safety, occupational hygiene, project management, business, or related fields or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Extensive experience in developing and maintaining H&S systems solutions including technology and risk tools, documents, data, analytics, and reporting
- Significant experience in project management as it relates to transformational change in H&S performance
- Ability to interpret and apply the provisions of H&S legislation, policies and standards as they relate to the workplace
- Significant experience in high-risk environments such as utilities, mining, construction, energy, logistics or similar.
- Highly developed relationship management expertise to form credible and effective relationships and networks, including internal and external key stakeholders

The Details
This role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary of $134,000 - $170,000 (inclusive of superannuation).
