The Role
We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused Commercial Service Officer to join our team. In this role, you’ll manage trade waste discharges to support environmental compliance, protect infrastructure, and deliver excellent service to our commercial customers. You’ll engage directly with businesses, conduct site inspections, and help ensure our trade waste operations run smoothly.
- Identify and inspect premises that generate trade waste and assess associated risks.
- Negotiate trade waste consents and agreements, including pre-treatment requirements and discharge limits.
- Maintain accurate customer records and support billing and compliance processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure safe and compliant trade waste management.
- Support customers with applications, education, and pre-treatment planning.

What we're looking for
We’re seeking a skilled and customer-focused professional who can manage trade waste operations effectively while building strong relationships with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a mix of technical knowledge, communication skills, and practical experience.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Knowledge of trade waste, tankered waste, and sewage treatment systems.
- Experience in contract management, negotiation, and compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a valid C class driver’s licence

The Details
This role will be based in Hobart and attracts a salary of $92,089.99 - $97,206.13 (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
