The Role
This role delivers contract and commercial management support for TasWater’s capital works program, including medium and largescale projects. It ensures commercial processes are followed, agreements meet all requirements, and project outcomes align with contract provisions.
As a key member of the Project Commercial Management Team, you will contribute to best practice contract and commercial management, promote consistency in contract administration, and support a collaborative, high performance team culture.
Key responsibilities
- Manage commercial and contractual activities across major capital projects, including contract administration, change management, and the resolution of commercial disputes.
- Lead contract performance monitoring by developing, negotiating, and overseeing KPIs and performance standards for partners and suppliers.
- Assess and administer contract claims, including progress claims, variations, and extensions of time, ensuring alignment with contract terms and legislative obligations.
- Coordinate contract closeout and financial completion processes to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant project finalisation.
- Maintain and improve commercial management systems and processes, ensuring alignment with Procurement, the EPMO, and Delivery Framework ways of working.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting collaborative delivery, strong partner performance, and high-quality capital program outcomes.

What we're looking for
We’re seeking a proactive and skilled commercial or contract management professional who can support medium and largescale infrastructure projects and work collaboratively across a complex project delivery environment. You’ll bring strong analytical capability, excellent stakeholder skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Relevant qualifications in Business, Commerce, Accounting, Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in contract administration within civil construction or infrastructure project environment.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, multitasking, and prioritisation skills, with a proactive, solutions focused mindset.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with strong digital capability and experience using contract/project management systems.
- Ability to understand (or quickly learn) large, complex, whole of life cycle infrastructure programs and associated legislative and business frameworks.

The Details
This role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary of $103,701.29 - $109,462.48 (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
