The Role
Programming of all Dam Safety Compliance activities. This role is critical in ensuring TasWater meets all dam safety regulatory and legislative compliance obligations while continuously identifying and implementing improvement opportunities that align with broader business objectives.
The role oversees the delivery of key dam safety compliance programs, including the management of two major contracts. The function currently operates across northern and southern regions, requiring strong coordination, stakeholder management and operational leadership.
- Responsible for the overall project and contract management of the Dam Surveillance Contracts inclusive of Intermediate
- Inspection Reports, Comprehensive Surveillance Reports, deformation surveys, piezometer reports.
- Direct management of engineering consultants to ensure outcomes and deliverables are in line with agreed contract requirements
- Monitor and manage project performance through contract KPIs and progress meetings (both internal and external), and regularly report on progress, issues, and risks to the Dam Infrastructure Manager
- Provide advice and solutions to internal stakeholders to support objectives across TasWater

What we're looking for
We are looking for a strong compliance and people leader with a solid understanding of dam safety regulations and experience managing complex programs or contracts. You will be commercially and operationally astute, proactive in driving continuous improvement, and confident leading teams to deliver against compliance and performance KPIs. Strong stakeholder engagement, planning and coordination skills, and a solutions-focused mindset aligned to business objectives are essential.
- Formal vocational training in Project Management or Engineering
- Minimum three years’ experience in a similar role, with experience in the water or wastewater industry highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks, with the ability to apply them in an operational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and achieving business objectives.

The Details
This role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary of $131,265 - $145,850 (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
