JOB DESCRIPTION
About the Role:
The position of Depot Supervisor is responsible for optimising operations efficiency through effective utilisation of equipment and employees, ensuring movement of freight in accordance with schedules and time deadlines.
Reporting to the Terminal Manager, this is a leadership position that has a particular focus on ensuring the consistent application of standards, engage and promote positive attitudes and behaviors within the team.
Critical to this role is the ability to plan and coordinate daily activities and hold team members to account. This position plays an important role in achieving daily KPI’s and identifying / actioning process improvements, along with engaging support from other functional leads.
Some key components of this role:
Oversee floor operations to ensure cost efficient and effective allocation of labour and equipment to achieve daily work requirements.
Ensure freight is received, documented, handled, and loaded in the correct manner, whilst achieving maximum vehicle utilisation at minimal cost
Plan and co-ordinate freight to allocated trailers, ensuring all freight is loaded in assigned bays.
Ensure loading of Dangerous Goods is carried out in accordance with the Dangerous Goods Code
Ensure all freight movements are scanned using ILFT
Ensure all freight is secured safely in accordance with Load Restraint Guidelines
Ensure all Wash Bay & Fumigation activities are coordinated as per Government regulations and full compliance with Depot licence requirements.
Ensure all instances of damages to freight or equipment (forklift) are reported using a Service Incident Report.
Report all damaged freight to customer service.
About you:
With previous supervisory experience in logistics or transport industry you are a confident, self-motivated outgoing individual with an ability to work well under pressure to prioritise competing issues in a busy but positive working environment.
You will possess strong communication skills with proven ability to build and maintain relationships and provide a quality seamless service on behalf of the business.
