What does your day look like?

Team Global Express (TGE) are seeking the support of a high calibre Commercial Analyst, supporting Network Operations.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will provide financial reporting, commercial analysis and data driven decision making support relating to operational effectiveness and profitability activity. This includes cost analysis, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial and scenario modelling to assist management with key strategic and operational decisions, and the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to track operational activity as well as evaluation of investment decisions.

The role is responsible for leading management reporting and analysis and is supported by a shared resource pool of accountants who coordinate ledger postings and balance sheet reconciliations.

You will be responsible for:

Commercial Reporting:

• Drive commercial insights for network optimization and value maximization, encompassing linehaul trip analysis, fuel cost evaluation, and fleet rental optimization.
• Ensure timely production and review of financial and operational reports, following predetermined schedules and engaging stakeholders across all organizational levels.
• Support strategic budgeting, conduct weekly profit and loss reporting, and contribute to the development and automation of standard, audience-focused reporting in collaboration with the BI team.

Decision Support

• Create financial models for supply chain problem-solving and operational optimization.
• Conduct pricing analysis, support commercial tenders, ensure accuracy in KPI reports, and serve as a key business partner for executive stakeholders in operational performance and investment outcomes.

Risk & Control environment

• Perform control checks for sub-contractor payments, collaborate with operations, risk, and finance colleagues to enhance Partner assurance in the control environment, and partner with Fleet and Equipment teams to uplift asset management and planning.

About you

At Team Global Express, we have high standards in delivering an excellent service, we are values obsessed for our people and our customers. This dynamic role requires an energetic, innovative and experienced Commercial Analyst with extensive experience as a Commercial Analyst.

• Bachelor of Economics or Bachelor of Commerce with Finance / Accounting focus, Registered CA / CPA.
• Over 5 years of experience in in a decision support capacity.
• Advanced Excel modelling skills including pivot tables, data queries and ability to manipulate large volumes of data (previous experience with SQL queries, TM1, Power Bi would be advantageous)
• Financial analysis, modelling, forecasting and budgeting skills employing driver-based approaches.
• Good PowerPoint capabilities, to support distilling key financial information and key messages to decision making forums.
• Ability to identify trends and issues as well as understanding their impacts on the business. Understanding of business concepts, knowledge of the organisation, profitability
• Strong business and commercial acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.
• A capacity to operate in a dynamic, evolving environment.
• Strong organisational, self-discipline and people management skills.
• Proven skills in defining, prioritising and organising competing tasks to meet deadlines.
