Join our team at Team Global Express (TGE) as an Insurance Claims Officer. In this role, you will oversee and manage the end-to-end claims process, ensuring timely and accurate handling of customer goods claims. You will work closely with various departments, providing exceptional customer service and contributing to the continuous improvement of our claims management processes.

This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your skills in a role that combines customer -centricity, technical expertise with strategic problem-solving.

You will be responsible for reviewing, processing, investigating, and evaluating claims. Your role will involve negotiating settlements, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will also collaborate with internal business units to enhance claims performance and provide an improved results for TGE’s claims outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of insurance claims from initiation to resolution, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Record incoming claims from business units, conduct thorough investigations, and maintain detailed records in the claims register.
  • Assess the validity and coverage of claims, ensuring they meet policy requirements and company standards.
  • Engage with claimants and third-party insurance companies to negotiate settlements for claims below excess, aiming for fair and efficient resolutions.
  • Provide input into process enhancements and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the legal department, to improve claims performance and reduce the incidence of claims.
  • Design and implement claims processes, providing training to key customer service and sales staff to ensure effective claims management.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) in finance, business, or a related field.
  • Experience in claims management or a similar role, with a strong understanding of the claims process at a corporate level.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and develop business relationships.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to analyse statistics and identify trends that impact the company's operations, translating these insights into meaningful actions for business units.
