About the Role
We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive Pick-Up Allocator to join our Transport Operations team at our Eastern Creek Cross Dock facility.
In this critical role, you’ll be responsible for planning, allocating, and overseeing daily pick-up operations from customer sites into the cross-dock. You’ll manage a fleet of approximately 30 drivers (employees and subcontractors), ensuring safety, compliance, and on-time performance across South and Southwest Sydney and the Southern Highlands.
If you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy real-time problem solving, and take pride in delivering reliable service—this role is for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan and allocate daily pick-up runs aligned to service windows, capacity, and freight priorities
- Manage AM/PM pick-up waves and respond quickly to urgent or ad-hoc requirements
- Monitor live operations via TMS/telematics and resolve delays, breakdowns, or exceptions
- Lead driver briefings, provide real-time support, and coach performance and safety behaviours
- Act as the main point of contact for customer pick-up queries, ETAs, and service updates
- Ensure accurate scanning, POD capture, manifests, and compliance documentation
- Oversee COR, NHVR fatigue management, load restraint, and safety compliance
- Conduct audits, manage corrective actions, and support incident investigations
- Analyse KPIs (DIFOT, OTPU, scan accuracy) and drive continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- 2–3+ years’ experience in transport allocation, dispatch, or PUD/cross-dock operations
- Strong working knowledge of COR, NHVR fatigue rules, and load restraint
- Experience managing drivers and handling real-time operational exceptions
- Confident communicator who stays calm under pressure
- Strong attention to detail with disciplined record-keeping
- Comfortable working with TMS/WMS, telematics, and Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams)
- Experience with Route Tronics, Descartes, or similar systems (highly regarded)
Why Join Us?
- Stable Monday–Friday roster with predictable hours
- Play a key role in a high-volume, critical transport operation
- Opportunity to lead, influence, and improve operational outcomes
- Work with engaged drivers, stakeholders, and modern transport systems
- Be part of a business that values safety, accountability, and performance
If you’re an experienced allocator who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and delivering results—we’d love to hear from you.
