About the role
The Head of Commercial is a senior leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth and commercial performance across Tennis Queensland and for delivering the Premium Experience hospitality program for the Brisbane International. The role brings together sponsorship and commercial partnerships, Brisbane International Premium Experiences, Queensland Tennis Centre commercial opportunities and complementary format development under a single commercial leader. A key component of the role is leading fundraising and donor engagement, leveraging the Brisbane International and Tennis in Queensland.
In this hands-on role, you will:
- Lead the development and execution of a commercial partnerships strategy that grows sponsorship revenue across Tennis Queensland.
- Service and renew existing partner relationships, ensuring contractual obligations are met and partners are actively engaged throughout the year.
- Partner with the General Manager, Tennis and the Queensland Tennis Centre Tennis Manager to identify and pursue commercial revenue growth opportunities at the Queensland Tennis Centre.
- Lead the commercial development of complementary format events including the Pickleball Slam and future non-traditional revenue opportunities at the Queensland Tennis Centre.
- Develop and execute fundraising programs, campaigns and events.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated success in commercial sales, sponsorship or business development in sport, events, entertainment or a related sector.
- Strong client relationship management capability with a track record of renewals and client satisfaction.
- An understanding of the tennis, sport or major events landscape.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, commerce, sport management or a related field are desirable.
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
- Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis QLD.
